Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Construction Radar (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates constructionradar.ca, a SaaS platform that turns publicly available building-permit data into construction job leads for trade contractors in British Columbia, Canada. 2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account we collect your name, email address, company name (optional), and a hashed password. We never store your password in plain text.

Usage Analytics

We record events such as logins, searches, and feature interactions to understand how the product is used and to improve it. These events are linked to your account ID but are not sold to third parties.

Payment Information

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, card expiry, or CVV on our servers. Stripe provides us with a customer ID and the last four digits of your card for reference purposes only. Stripe’s privacy practices are governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy.

Cookies & Sessions

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. Session data is stored server-side and the cookie contains only an opaque session identifier.

Permit Data

The building-permit information displayed on Construction Radar is drawn from publicly available municipal and provincial records. This data is public record and does not constitute personal information about our subscribers.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account and subscription.
• To deliver the features of the Construction Radar platform.
• To send transactional emails (e.g. billing receipts, password resets) via Resend.
• To power the AI assistant feature via Anthropic’s API. Queries you send to the assistant may be processed on Anthropic’s servers subject to their data policies.
• To improve our product through aggregated, anonymised analytics.
• To comply with legal obligations.

4. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following service providers only to the extent necessary:

• Stripe — payment processing. Card data is handled entirely by Stripe and is never transmitted to our servers.
• Anthropic— AI assistant (Ask Radar). Your queries are sent to Anthropic’s API for processing.
• Resend — transactional email delivery (receipts, notifications).
• Mapping tile providers — map tiles are fetched directly by your browser from providers such as CARTO and OpenStreetMap. Your IP address may be visible to these providers when the map loads.
• Cloudflare — infrastructure, DDoS protection, WAF, and optional CAPTCHA (Turnstile). Cloudflare may process traffic metadata.

We do not sell your personal information to any third party, ever.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. billing records, which are retained for seven years as required by Canadian tax law).

6. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you. To exercise these rights, email us at support@constructionradar.ca from the address associated with your account. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Security

We use HTTPS for all data in transit, bcrypt for password hashing, and restrict access to production databases to authorised personnel only. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by a prominent notice in the app. Continued use of Construction Radar after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
